The Housing Trust Fund of Santa Barbara County (HTF) is a non-profit financing initiative whose mission is to expand affordable housing opportunities for low-to-middle income residents and workers of Santa Barbara County, California. HTF helps maintain the socio-economic fabric of Santa Barbara County by addressing the fundamental building block of healthy communities – housing that is affordable to local workers and residents.
Where We Work
HTF’s geographical service area encompasses the entire County of Santa Barbara, California, including the urban cities of Carpinteria, Santa Barbara, Goleta, Buellton, Solvang, Lompoc, Santa Maria and Guadalupe and the unincorporated rural areas.
The People We Serve
HTF finances affordable rental and homeownership housing for low-to-moderate income working families, single parents, farm workers, senior citizens, homeless persons, and other persons with special needs throughout Santa Barbara’s diverse communities.
Santa Barbara County is the fifth least affordable small metropolitan area housing market in the nation. The county median home price was the sixth highest in the state, which has led to a severe shortage of affordable housing and has created an “affordability gap.”
